Lection is devoted to the intellectual inertial views of painting and its place in contemporary art.
Nearer than it seems
The road is a striving forward, from A to B; particularly when it is a metaphor of time.
Rear view mirror sets another vector. The glance at the past. The wary glance even maybe frightened. The past seems to be not so secure and stable, remembered and explored.
More than that, this permanent flashback motivates to move. From this point of view the motion aims not to the point forward but is directed from something uncertain and depressing in the past.
The flashing empty mirror shows an absence, loss pf the past. And as a result there is no sense and pathos in the motion.
Geographically the car has gone some kilometers but ontologically it still stands the same place.
It is omen of misfortune when someone or something is not reflected in the mirror. If you have the broken connection between times behind you and nothing is approaching you, so <<objects in the mirror are closer than they
appear>>.
