RECYCLING

18th February – 8th March

National Center for Contemporary Art, Saint Petersburg branch and International Educational Center of The State Hermitage Museum

Exhibition represents works of famous mid generation St. Petersburg artists who perform aesthetic recycling, creating new visual appearance based on images inherited from soviet epoch.  Their approach has principal differences from the irony of social art or postmodern intellectual game. USSR-born generation came to reconsideration of their cultural luggage, as a natural or even the only possible base for the new Russian art.
